Code Club is a global movement of free, open, volunteer-led coding clubs where young people aged 7 to 17 can explore coding and other digital making. You could learn how to make your own game, build a website, learn about circuits and anything in between!
Our volunteers launched Code Club at Lancaster University in November 2025 and we meet monthly on Sunday mornings in the university library. We run from 10-11.30am and the sessions are run by our two volunteers, Helen and John. You can find more information on getting to the university, including a campus map, by clicking here.
Please note, there is lots of parking available at the university but it is not free - please check the signage around the parking areas for fees and any other parking regulations.
Volunteers are what make our Club run! We have a small but dedicated team at Code Club Lancaster University, but we can always use more support!
You don't need to have a technical background to be a volunteer, you just need to be a friendly supportive person! We can provide you with any training you need, and as you might expect, all volunteers will need to complete a DBS check which we can arrange through Code Club.
Code Club is free to attend for young people, and we work hard to make sure money or access to technology isn't a barrier to anyone. But, we have costs we need to meet.
We gladly welcome donations of old computer equipment, especially laptops. If you've got an old laptop you don't use, it could help a young person build their first website or app!
We like to try and take lots of photos to share here and on our Facebook page, please let us know when you arrive if you'd rather not be in any of them.
Don't forget to bring your laptop with you (unless you've told us you'd like to borrow one of ours) and creators who are aged 13 or under will need an adult with them too.
We can't wait to meet you at our next session!
